We're dipping our toes into the murky waters of CRM with Maximizer
Enterprise 8 (having decided that ACT is a dog and Goldmine too
inflexible). We're not really a Microsoft shop, so the MS CRM product
was a bit of a no-go...
Anyone else here using it?
Are there any discussion forums I should be joining? It seems to be
discouraged as it's regarded as a platform for consultancy services ;-) |

there are several.
Have you looked at www.sugarcrm.com ?
they are about $230ish per user with full commercial support!
M$ is about twice that! Sugar is also very flexible.
Definately shop around and try a few. Each one has it's own quirks.
Goldmine has email client, but only for POP3 (it sucks, IMAP is far
superior). Also, no LDAP support.
But nice mail merge features and integrates with Zetafax.
SugarCRM has no email client, recently got mail-merge (don't know if
it's any good).
DEFINATELY, shop around.
Good luck,

I don't think consultants really put any CRM through it's paces unless
they are selling it. I have used Maximizer, Goldmine, Act and the best
one was Sales Control - no longer in production.
