I'm looking at an opportunity to sell a custom vehicle product in the range
of $200K to $4000K. If I get a lead through the website and follow up and
close I get 3.5%. Does this sound reasonable? It seems low to me. This is
commission only with about a eight-month sales cycle. We have not discussed
terms if I bring in a lead and follow through to completion. I would
appreciate opinions from those that have been there and done that. |

That's quite a spread. Is that a typo? What are you selling?

Depends on a lot of factors. What does the follow up involve?
Realtors sell houses in the range of 200k to 4MM and their commission is
about in that range.

That seems really long. Are you selling machines that need to be made to
order? Do you need to make the sale, wait months for the product to be
delivered and then paid for in order to collect your commission?

I've not worked sales before at these numbers. I think if you were to
provide details that would be helpful.
