Planning on starting a business on the internet? How do you go about getting a programmer/designer from revealing your idea?
1. Get something on thee lines of a web page/site contract. Check out www.ivanhoffman.com
(This is a good thing for you to do, but not fool-proof. If the designer/programmer does take your idea, will he/she be able to actually pay you for any damages?)
2. Remember it’s not about the idea, it’s about the execution.
Most people who have "secret ideas" discover many other people have the same idea, unless it is a technological or biochemical patent.
So just get along planning the best you can. Start small, don’t make it too big. Cover as many eventualities as you can.
