This is one of my favorite books on the subject of business and money, and an excellent read for everyone who's never given much consideration to the subjects. This was the first book I ever read on the subject, and I found it does an excellent job on motivation and mindset but doesn't tell anything about what to do.
The best part of this book (in my opinion), is that it points out first that there is a difference in the thought processes between the rich and the not-quite-so-rich, and second clearly points out what that difference is. Other excellent points made in this book are the importance of being able to sell your product, no matter how good a product is, it won't sell itself. An excellent example which I'll never forget was used to illustrate this point: An author (well educated in the field of writing) was interviewing him, and asked him how she might get her works to go somewhere. She got offended when he suggested she take a course on selling, after which he pointed out that on the cover of his book it says "Best-Selling Author" as opposed to "Best-Writing Author", and that if she were to put the two together, she would be able to do well writing.
All in all, an excellent book, I've read it several times, and each time it re-inspires me to think about things in a different light. Even if you don't accept the viewpoint, it's one you should at least consider. |
