If your business continues to grow out of your home and it gets larger there will come a time when you need to hire new employees.
Depending on your business you may be working with other people for business purposes from day one. You may need a web designer, assistant, wholesaler, writer, marketer, etc.
When it comes to hiring certain staff members or even freelancers what makes you choose?
I have heard many different answers to this.
I will admit my own business is a two person operation and I find it very hard to hire new people because of my own expectations. If you cannot please me, I doubt my client's will be happy and to me that is the most important thing.
Do you choose by a personal connection you feel with a person?
The ability they already possess and have experience in?
The ability they have to learn what you need them to do?
Does it come down to talent and ability to mold or talent that has already been born?
Everyone has talent and abilities in some area or another so what makes you decide the right person for your job? |

Well... I guess it all depends on the individual who hires...
For instance, sometimes freshmen are preferred... for they can learn and be molded as the employer needs them to... at other times, skilled and learned people are needed as there is no time to train them ... there are situations when you prefer to work with people you feel comfortable around... and situations when you have to accept to work at the side of those you cannot stand...
I guess what I am trying to say is that there is no recipe... :) |
