Check out the following web sites:
www.sba.gov
www.score.org
Both have help with business plans. You can also find a SCORE Chapter
near you at the SCORE.org site if you prefer face-to-face assistance.

A business plan starts out with an idea. Assuming you have an idea of what |
you want to convert into cash flow, here are the steps you need to take.
If, on the other-hand, you simply want a business plan to get a loan, or a
patent or to make a quick buck, I can't help.
Start out by finding out if your idea will sell:
Make sure your product/idea will sell at a price that will leave you a
margin. Todays greatest tool is free and is something old time marketing
people only a year or so ago could only dream of. Create a long list of
keywords that you will be using in your advertising copy. Go to www.ebay.com
and under the special search function click closed items only and input
your keywords. You will see what the market has paid for items such as yours
over the last couple of weeks. Do this every two weeks as you go through
your development process. Sony never sell their products based on the old
and obsolete MBA based manufacturing cost formulas. They sell them at
PERCEIVED value by the consumer, and then they create
manufacturing/distribution systems to achieve these targets. With eBay, you
are at par with Sonys marketing gurus.
Once you have proven that you have something people will buy, then go to the
next phase of market/business planning by following the step by step
procedure outlined here:
http://home.att.net/~impresario/salesmarketing.PDF - This is a no cost, no
fee, no come-ons, nothing to sell site funded by the California Colleges
Intensive Entrepreneurial Training program.

If you have never created a business plan before, I would recommend you
check out www.bplans.com. This has a ton of free sample business plans
that you can use as an outline. I actually used Business Plan Pro
(www.paloalto.com) when developing my business plan because it included
a couple of sample plans that I could use as a baseline. It was
worthwhile to me and it's a great place to start if you are looking for
help with your business plan.
Hoep this helps!
